Barn stored and kiln dried firewood - Local wood sourced from well managed woods
Barn Stored Hardwoods / Softwoods - Seasoning wood takes time. Our firewood is stored in our barn before letting it go. This is intended to be stacked as illustrated below or similar and left for a period of time to bring the moisture content down to an acceptable level of around 20 %
Kiln Dried Hardwood ( We've done the drying for you ) - Our kiln dried firewood is less than 20 % moisture content and Ready to Burn. Properly stored as illustrated below will stay dry, burn clean & efficiently. It gives off very low amounts of smoke particulates
Recommended bits and bobs - Log Store, Moisture meter for probing your wood to check when it's ready to use
(manufacturer of your stove will give you firewood moisture content guide lines that are suited to your particular stove), Pair of gloves to protect your hands when handling firewood |
